After the successful trial of the Brits 2021, where 5000 attendees (including 2500 key workers), attended the 02 in London, to ascertain the safety around live events and the reopening of attended events from May 2021 onwards, more and more events are set to welcome guests and customers.
Thanks to the excellent management of the event by the staff at the O2 and the thorough testing of attendees, the results were a resounding success. This has literally ‘opened the doors’ for subsequent events and venues.
The Euros are a prime example of a return to normality, as well as indoor snooker and test cricket, with the 2nd test between England and New Zealand at Edgbaston having the largest live audience since 2018.
From speedway and tennis to theatre and live music venues, the use of ID cards or entry cards, whether they are physically printed cards or the increasing use of virtual mobile wallet cards, the provision of choice for members or attendees means that the convenience of how a ticket or card is presented to the visitor or attendee, is key.
Virtual membership cards for convenience, keepsake memorabilia cards and tickets for added value, VIP cards or Access All Areas cards for example, do not lend themselves as easily to virtual cards. VIPs want to be seen - AAA cards are a 'badge to be worn', not to be hidden away on a phone!
